I take this opportunity to welcome all to Kenya Industrial Training Institute (KITI).This is a Training Institution under the Ministry of Investments,Trade and Industry whose mandate is to give trainees hands on Training in Technical/Industrial skills with a strong component of Entrepreneurship skills for self employment.
There are nine training departments in KITI including Clothing and Textiles, Leather and Tannery, Electrical and Electronics,Mechanical engineering, Automotive engineering, Building technology, Food and beverages/Food technology,ICT and Business Management.
In addition to providing tailor made courses in line with the market demand,KITI also offers curriculum for KNEC (Kenya National Examinations Council) and NITA (National Industrial Training Authority) certification. The training levels therefore range from short courses to diploma depending on the needs of the client.
While maintaining its mandate,the Institute has continued to adjust its programs in order to respond to the changing needs of the market hence making the courses offered remain market driven. Such market driven courses include training in solar PV and Solar water heating which have been introduced in the Institute in the recent past due to the changing market needs.
In the course of discharging its mandate KITI has continued to collaborate with various organisations both from Government and the private sector. Some of the recent collaborations include those with JICA,GIZ,KOICA,Computer for schools Kenya (Cfsk),County Governments of Laikipia,Nyeri and Nakuru.
Having gone through Technical and professional training, the training staff of KITI is well qualified and has capacity to offer high quality training in the various skills areas.A student who enrolls for any course at KITI is therefore assured of acquiring high level skills.
